- Head of School
Betsy de Vega
Betsy received her degree in Psychology from the University of Houston. She has worked in education, in various capacities including as a Bilingual Case Manager / Teacher for M.H.M.R.A. of Harris County, and as an administrator for Southampton Montessori School.
She was the first person to bring a cognitive skills-based enrichment program called Learning Rx to the Houston area.
She founded KnILE Center in 2008 and currently serves as the Head of School. Betsy is also a certified Irlen Screener and is Virtus trained. She volunteers for such organizations such as Night of Superstars, Hope for Three and Child Advocates of Ft Bend and is a member of LDA (Learning Disabilities Association) and IDA (International Dyslexia Association).
In order to continue to improve her skills and ability to help KnILE students learn better, Betsy and her staff participate in annual educational training programs in areas such as Dyslexia and learning concerns, just to name a few.
Betsy’s career and her passion has always involved helping children succeed. This is why she started KnILE Center. She wanted to offer an educational program that did not limit students from learning and reaching their fullest potential. She absolutely loves what she does and is so grateful to have this as her calling.
Betsy has been married to her best friend, Charles de Vega, and has two beautiful children, Alex and Gigi. She enjoys spending her free time with her family and also enjoys dancing and watching movies.
