“To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.” ― Dr. Seuss
My name is Christina Amaya and I’m excited to begin my adventure at KnILE this year as an Assistant Teacher! I’ve been assisting students for five years and truly enjoy watching them learn and grow into confident young adults. Prior to my work in education, my career was in healthcare fundraising. I decided to take some time off in 2015 to care for my young sons. During that time, I was able to volunteer, and soon became a substitute in the special needs classroom at my sons’ elementary school which led to my interest in education. I’ve enjoyed working with students K-12 as well as Fort Bend ISD’s Adult Transition Services (ATS) program.
I graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College with a degree in Communication in 1990. My husband, Steven and I are both native Houstonians and have lived in Richmond since 2013. We have twin boys who are freshmen at Foster High School. Huntly and Brady are on their way to becoming Eagle Scouts and have plans to enter the military when they graduate. I enjoy spending time with my family and four rescued pets (2 cats, 2 dogs). I like to go to the beach and the mountains as well as camping and hiking.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child’s learning experience!
